It was a repeat win for Guildford City in the National arena Junior League Final that was held at the Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre in Hornchurch, London on Saturday 20th September .

The holders, Guildford City SC , retained their National arena Junior League title in a noisy and well supported final for the 9 – 12 year old swimmers. Guildford City SC showed their strength across the 33 event programme, where they also won the relay challenge trophy – for the best combined overall relay time.

The other teams pushed them hard throughout the meet with Chelsea & Westminster SC taking the runners-up position just 34 points behind , Wycombe District SC were in third place 22 points behind. The packed gallery fully supported every race with the spectators waving and cheering every swimmer .

The win confirms the strong position that Guildford City SC hold in GB Club competition after winning the senior arena League title in March . Guildford’s Junior National Lead coach, Sam Tierney, commented “We’re delighted to have retained this title and make it 4 outright wins in the past 5 years . This is always a great competition to start off the season and congratulations to all the teams present today for some exciting racing. Well done to all our swimmers, including the many who also raced in the earlier rounds and our other teams. The club works toward these league performances and thanks must go to our academy programme for the development of swimmers year after year who go on to represent the club in all our arena league teams”

The trophy was presented by Swim England President , Roger Prior .
